you can setup tethering without the cost by installing a mere tiny mobile config file which o2 would normally charge you for if you didnt perhaps pass by here or the site in question which lets you install this : here

1. go to link above or click image it will take you there
2. pick country
3. choose your provider ( contract or payg)
4. choose to install(it will warn you just go ahead)
5. plug it in after installation to your laptop and it sohuld pop up a network config window and  or just pair it to your laptop and then your phone sohuld go a nice  glowing blue !

just visit this link via your iphone choose your country and type of account (contract or payasyougo) and thats it connecto pc via usb or pair it via bluetooth and you should have laptop viewing the web via your phones 3g service! sweet!!!!up yours o2 !
