ok, I was bored so I bricked my phat psp while playing with the flash 0/1 area
basically the green light stays on and theres no life …until you make a jigkick battery and memory stick that is !! Pandora software to the rescue ..So I hacked my orig 1800 mAh battery into a pandora battery and proceded to make the pandora mem stick to run recoverymenu/cemetario v3 !.. I have taken pics and deets on how I got on with it – just so that I dont forget how I did it !
When you see my batt you’ll realise I’m very lucky not too have blown up my face considering sony’s track record with batts lol …lol what do you expect doing this s*** @ 3am!
what I had used/you’ll need to make your pandora memstick/jigkick battery combo:
-psp phat /slim
-orig 1800mAh battery
-soldering iron
-small screwdriver set
-pro duo stick anything good upto 4GB (I used the ms pro highspeed 2GB variety but you could do it on a 256 one if you wanted)
- another cfw psp* (if you’ve really lost your reg/kd folders or the pandora GUI isnt making a good pandora stick that works/boots etc I believe you need another psp thats cfw already to create the pandora produo stick proper, its needs files from it .. you can get them online but its illegal to dist. you gonna have to search for it ..I had no such luck.. .
Using the gui with a card reader for me wasnt enough… so another psp done the job..)
I tried the pandora gui 1.5 to no avail, it just would’nt create a bootable memstick with my jig kick battery ,almost started to think I killed the battery and you’ll see why as you read on.. so I luckly have access to a cfw psp phat that I’d done already previously , and used the pandora 1.5 Gui again ..now the pandora was booting up .. great! follow this forum post to do this step then continue reading…. read on for Steps to make a Pandora memstick with/without a cfw phat psp here
Now to make a pandora jiggy battery ,you’ll need some very thin/small or your finger nails if they can handle it, prob safer.. I popped through into the li-ion outter shell and it smoked up! I thought it was about to blow..but luckly I done it so quick the battery still seems to work!i suggest using something plastic like a guitar pick orif you have to use metal screwdriver push it in and down not across the back or thourgh the sides of the battery as diff versions have circuit boards on the top part or on the back on the battery so no where is safe to prod that thing into safely! Now to get the solder iron out and heat the pin shown in the pic(usually youll find that this is the battery you have if not chec kthe forums posts as someone would have show na way to tdo it on the other types out there.
This is one of my fake batterys?
this is the orig that came with a psp (with pin removed ):
Use a toothpick/small sewing pin/safety pin/ what ever is small enough to tuck under it and prise it up, you dont have to break it ,you could solder it back on but its better to have this and have an unmodified spare -much easier in the long run ..
heres how to make a pandora battery
for you spanish dudes heres one :
to prepare the pandora memsticks you have two easier ways to do it
easy installer…
if it works youll see the wifi and memstick flash briefly and the black and white text will appear asking you to recover/update ./ /
After that if your just using the pandora jig menu ..you should be into the 1.50 firmware shortly..ready for the upgradingz to the m33 firmware! when you have 2xx – 3xx firmware running you can run the cemetario v3 universal unbricker from darkalex this will put your psp into 371 m33 update 2 once you add it to your stick and run it under a cfw.
then your done just make your seplug folder in your root add your vrx’s plugins ( i use the le recovery rev 3 plugin for example placed it in/ms0://seplugins/recovery.vrx) place the path to the folder you just added into the txt file that comes with the plugin so it finds it.. simple!) then go into your recovery menu on startup and enable the plugin.
then you can run (after youve added the 150 addon update) things like this :
snes emulator for slim and phats
thats it really quick overview :
your psp only has one green light and doesnt do much ,…
- get a spare battery turn it into a pandora battery following guides
- get a sparee 256 pro duo stick up to 4GB
- run the pandora gui 1.5 or other similar software to make the correct mem stick files.
- if it didnt work with just a card reader steps only then try the software with a spare cfw psp
- you should now have a pandora batt and a pandora stick
- insert battery and watch the screen give you instructions to update/dumpnand etc (is good idea to dump nand at each stage copy it to you pc and hope youll never bric kyour psp so bad that youll need to reflash using your nand!)
- say hello to a 1.50 basepsp that switches on and everything ..
- now you’ll probably want the latest and greatests m33 firmware so load up with the psp upgrader|downgrader v1.11 and chose your base system and the one you want to end up with (the best selection being 352)
- then once thats done load up cemetario v3 from your now 3.xx psp and run it .. it will give you an psp 3.71 m33 update2!!!!!!! done .. now add your plugins you your seplugin root folder and the 150 addon v2 update run that and set your homebrew kernal to 1.50/371 etc in your recovery menu or via the le recovery v3 menus (which is even easier!) to pla yyour snes emulator or run your pimp streamer or whatever takes your fancy!.. the endz
- update: once cemetario v3 is installed you should have a jigkick stick ready to fix any psp with flash issues and turn it into a working 3.71 M33 update 2 firmware psp (which also works on a slim & lite which i can verify to work great as I tried it on my chinese bought psp slim – screen shows text and everything no issues now.. dark alex the psp savior hey!)
ps….to do next : all i need do now is transfer this image ,clone-style to another stick as im wasting a perfectly good 2gig highspeed stick on this pandora setup I need it for films and such goddamn it.. dd on linux me thinks ..gonna test it as i understand theres no details personal to your specific psp to get a jig stick to work so a clone image of a stick to another stick should be fine??/….
